Staff Profile – Craig Pidgeon
The company was very small back then, I think I was the 8th staff member but only 3 of us weren’t family in some shape or form. My job was customer service and sales of Motorola radio products to our local customers and my out of town territory, the Westcoast. As the company’s reputation grew through good customer service and the sales of high quality Motorola products, I was promoted to Sales Manager in 2001 and ran the Radio Telephone (RT) sales department. The employment and training of new high quality, focussed sales people has helped T L Parker Ltd and the communication industry in Canterbury grow to be recognised as the best in New Zealand.
In my total of 30+ years in the New Zealand communications industry and more particularly the Canterbury region I am very proud of what I and what I call my work family, have achieved. For a small company to grow and be successful under the shadow of a large local manufacturer to the levels we have, proves we got it right and are doing an exceptional job.
I think Richard Branson said it best “Clients don’t come first employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they take care of the clients”
My Goal has always been for T L Parker Ltd to be the supplier of choice for all Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) and Analogue Two Way Radio Telephone communication requirements both now and in the future.
My passion and commitment is to develop a communication infrastructure that will support high quality products and after sales service that will surpass our customers’ expectations, while being flexible enough to grow with future requirements.
As always I remain focused on Customer needs offering the best in advice and solutions for their communication needs.
Out of work, my passions are Classic Motor Racing which I have been doing for the last 35 years. Vintage and Classic cars, travelling with my wife and two boys, boating, Floyd the Dog and relaxing with friends and a good glass of Shiraz.
